I’ll be honest, it does look best on a smaller head, and a smaller woman. Yes, some heads are as big as a basket ball. As a hairstylist for more than 33 years I’ve seen my fair share of bad short haircuts. If you request a haircut that is short and you see the hairstylist coming at you with clippers. RUN! Clippers are for men or those punk rock young rebellious girls. What I’d like to illustrate is what I have learned from Jacques Dessange.

Jacques is from Paris. Parisians have a different way of looking at life and style. I learned this in one of his master classes. This class changed the way I looked at hair cutting and styling. He cut short hair so beautifully. It was short yet so feminine. When a woman goes short you must leave some length in the cut to look youthful and feminine. You use razors instead of clippers. You must analyze their face to bring out their best features. Remember wispy napes, longer soft fringes about the face or even a long interior with a short fringe. Whatever the look, just remember these are women who want and need to look beautiful with minimal styling time in the morning.
