Getting back to your roots
Embracing your grey
There come a time in every woman’s life when I hear I am so tired of this color maintenance. Covering grey roots are a monthly appointment and most women will color their hair until that day when they say enough.
Curly hair will hide grey due to that hairs texture and volume. Straight or fine thin, or even short hair will show a grey part line in just a few weeks. Remember, your hair grows a half inch a month.
There is a right and a wrong way to get back to your roots. Just leaving your grey grow in while leaving your brown hair color grow out for years looks very unsightly. I’ve seen it and I’ll hold back my negative opinions to myself.
Now when a client come in and is very interested in a corrective color to take them back to grey in one to three sittings is a possibility. You may hit a home run on your first time up to bat but sometimes you need several appointments to get you back to grey. Below I have a visual illustration from consultation to the end result.
